I'm proud to be asked back for another year to present an annual tax update to the Seattle chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), coming up in January 2020. I enjoyed chit-chatting with the of the attendees last year to learn about their world of government accounting! Last year, we had so many changes with the TCJA; this year, we have refinements and updates, plus a few new laws. AGA events page

Looking forwarding to meeting up with the Seattle Composer's Alliance this month to share highlights about filing city, county, state and federal taxes. We'll review different taxes artists may be responsible for, explain what is and isn’t tax deductible, and offer record-keeping tips. Grant recipients, teaching artists, freelance artists & composers, this workshop is for you. Event details here!

Oh, yes! I get to combine two of my favorite things: accounting and yoga! My yoga alma mater Seattle Yoga Arts (where I received my 200-HR yoga teaching certificate) has invited me to co-teach this the business of yoga to this year's crop of students with Nathaniel Amos. We'll cover Washington State and Federal taxes, along with planning for taxes, thinking about accounting for your freelance business, pricing, contracting vs employment and more. Coming up on December 7, 2019!
