From 2012 through the sunsetting of the program in 2018, I taught budding business owners a jam packed session at SCORE's New Business Workshops, sharing the vital information they needed to know about taxes and accounting as they started their journey into business ownership. Instead of bringing a canned presentation each time, I customized each session to the attendees' industries and the questions they brought with them.
Washington State has a unique business tax system that isn't easy to navigate! Business owners need help understanding how state B&O, sales, use, and other taxes function, how to budget for them, how to interpret the law for their industry, and more. Over the course of a few years, I taught these concepts via the WLA's workshop series.
